Full-Stack Developer Portfolio and Engineering Approach

Production systems, with the decisions written down

For recruiters and engineering teams: my stack, my approach, and the work to check it against.

I am a full-stack developer working in Python and Django, React and JavaScript, Node and Express, and PostgreSQL on AWS. I currently lead development of RE/AMP, a production multi-tenant SaaS.

This page is for recruiters and engineering teams. It shows what I work with, how I work, and where to check the claims.

The short version

  • Current role: Lead Developer on RE/AMP since March 2024.
  • Before that: Full-Stack Developer at Aquifer Investments, 2023 to 2024.
  • Earlier: Web development, SEO, and paid search at World Car Auto Group, 2014 to present, part-time since 2023.
  • Location: Fort Worth, Texas. I am open to relocating for the right role and compensation.

How I approach a project

Understand the problem and the edge cases

I define the behavior, the failure cases, and the boundaries before I design anything. Unclear requirements become written questions, not guesses.

Model the data before the features

The database design comes first. A good schema keeps later features simple, and a poor one leaks into every layer.

Test first and review everything

I write parameterized boundary tests before the feature code. Every change gets reviewed before it is committed.

At one staging checkpoint on RE/AMP, the suite stood at 726 passing tests across 42 suites. That is a snapshot of one body of work, not a coverage figure for the whole application.

Use AI inside constraints

I use Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini regularly. I decide the architecture and the data model, I set the patterns and tests the code must pass, and I verify the output.

Release through staging

RE/AMP releases go through a staging environment rebuilt from the latest production backup. That tests both the release and the recovery process.

Selected work

RE/AMP

A production multi-tenant SaaS for real estate transaction and investor operations. I started the codebase in March 2024 and have made 2,500+ of its 5,000+ commits, in a 180,000+ line React, Node/Express, and SQL codebase with other contributors.

Inventory ad feed pipeline

A Go ETL pipeline and API that syncs vehicle inventory to Google and Facebook ad platforms. It is still used for inventory marketing.

Distributed crawler

A Playwright crawling system with Docker replicas, a shared proxy pool, and recovery for stalled work.

Public code

My public repositories are on a self-hosted Forgejo instance at git.turngear.dev.

  • Brazen: a Django user-management portal with invites, roles, and password reset. It has 27 tests.
  • Botprofiles CS:S: a Go command-line tool that generates game bot profiles. It has 65 tests and runs CI on every push.

These are personal projects, not production deployments.
